Each of the tests below take less than 30 minutes and will give you an insight into your work personality, helping you to understand your career options better. The only catch is that you are required to supply some basic information and an email address. This is to verify the demographics of those participating and the details are not passed on to a third party.

Keirsey temperament sorter
This fun, interesting, and revealing test tells you if you're an Artisan, Guardian, Rationalist or Idealist. This is the same test used in career development programs at Fortune 500 companies and in counselling centres and career placement centres at major universities. You will get a free temperament description and will then have the opportunity to buy the 10-page Character Report for your type.

Insights discovery report
A detailed and highly accurate Jung-based assessment of your personality. There are 40 questions, and the resulting character description is based on a colour-coded insights compass reflecting the four main personality types identified by Jung. The trial also features a free 20-minute session with an accredited Insights coach.

Career values inventory
This test helps you familiarise yourself with your career values. The 88 questions will take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete. After you have finished you will receive your own personal feedback regarding your career values. Information will not be forwarded to any third party.

Trima career competency questionnaire
This test was produced to help you familiarise yourself with your career competencies. This questionnaire consists of 150 questions and will take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete. After you have finished the questionnaire you will receive your own personal feedback regarding your career competencies.

The Myers Briggs type indicator - abridged test
This MTR-iç team roles questionnaire is based on the widely respected Myers Briggs Type indicator, which identifies you as one of 16 specific personality types. The MTR-iç website provides a comprehensive insight into each of these personality types. When you have completed the questionnaire please pay careful attention to collating the results. A pop up window will appear with four pairs of results, and your personality type is determined by combining the first letter of the dominate trait in each pair (e.g. INTJ or ESPN). Note that two of the traits begin with the letter I, therefore use the letter N for the trait referred to as 'intuition'. Although it is a little confusing to find an end result, this personality test is the most comprehensive report freely available on the web.
