Whilst some DVDs ship with a digital version, enabling you to copy the (digital) movie to your iPad or Android device, clearly older movies do not have this facility and sometimes it's good to have your favourite movie on your iPad or streamed via a NAS drive.
Recent changes to UK law now enable you to make a legal backup of a movie for personal use. This enables you to rip a movie to your hard drive, store on a NAS drive, stream around your house (for your use only) or even take a copy on your iPad, when you're on the road or away on holiday.
Free Studio is a hugely comprehensive suite of conversion software that enables you to convert a movie, video or audio file to just about any other format. Convert for playback on your iPad, iPhone, Android and other devices.
Note, Free Studio requires .Net Framework 2 SP2 or higher.
