Screenshots are an extremely handy thing for communicating ideas with others and are useful in a number of areas.

If you use screenshots regularly or are looking for a suitable tool, Desktop Curtain can help you get the grab you need. You can use the application to place a backdrop behind what you capture, quickly and easily hiding and clutter on your desktop.

Desktop Curtain can be accessed from your Dock, appear in the menu bar, or even run as a ‘faceless’ application. Use the tool’s preferences window to choose your preferred background and simply take your grab.

The latest version ships with an easier-to-use interface to versions of old and is utilised by both the free and paid for versions.

Note that this is the free 'Classic' version. Users can also upgrade to a more fully featured version for the nominal fee of $1.99.
