The BBC news application should not really need introduction, especially since it is an incredibly common app amongst users.
Already well used the application has recently had an update, and it remains easy to use and up-to-date with the news.
Stories, for those not familiar with the application, are arranged in a number of categories including business, science and technology, sports and entertainment, meaning that users can choose just to view that news that they are interested it, without having to trawl through a range of irrelevant articles.
This set-up, and the ability to search articles, means that even if you are pushed for time the BBC news application gives you what you need and when you need it.
Touchscreen smartphone features are also catered for, and users can swipe through articles, while the breaking news ticker may suit those that really like to stay on top of any incoming articles.

Great app - except for tablets!
I have been using the BBC News app on my HTC Desire since it was launched, but I now have an ASUS eee Pad table and am frustrated because the BBC News app is not available for my tablet. I believe this is because the app will only work in portrait, not landscape. I would have thought that this is a relatively minor update that would be benifical for both phone and tablet users. I would be very happy to pay for a version that work properly on my tablet, so there is even an opportunity for the BBC to make some money from us Android users.
