Concerned about a lump, or a persistent cough? The NHS Direct self assessment application may be for you.

The application is really easy to use and can help save users work out what is wrong with them, without having to go to the doctors. You can check symptoms against its database of woes, get information about existing conditions, and good advice on how to stay fit and active and avoid becoming ill.

The health assessment tools have been clinically tested and this, along with the backing of the NHS, should give users some confidence in its abilities.
