Perhaps the Periodic Table only has niche appeal to a small subset of users, but as a free download it is a worthy and surprisingly entertaining addition to any handset.
Informative and educational the Periodic Table has emerged from school science labs and moved onto smartphones. Fittingly it brings with it a selection of Web 2.0 like features.
Science students in particular will appreciate the 30 or so hints about every element as well as other features such as audio clips - for helping with pronunciation.
While it may not come into use during the average business meeting, the app will also help settle pub arguments and solve quizzes and crosswords.
