The free version of Spotify serves as a decent introduction to the paid for application, but may frustrate users that do not subscribe to its services.
Those that do will find a range of music sources designed to satisfy a range of tastes, and turns a Spotify playlist into a portable library meaning that the smartphone becomes more of a capable music player.
A paid for subscription costs £9.99 per month, which may put off users from moving away from the free option. However, these services could be viewed as a suitable alternative to music download sites.
