Skype’s free instant messaging and phone call making application lets users make free calls to other compatible handsets for free using either a data plan or wireless connection.
Low priced calls to landlines and mobile phones are also offered, with Skype credits, while text chat lets users communicate in groups.
Skype’s mobile phone client successfully mirrors the experience of the desktop version, however with users complaining about problems running the software on some handsets, downloaders would be wise to check the comments, and specifications before downloading.
The latest v2 now supports video caling over Wi-Fi and 3G connections.
