Excellent tool for watching BBC content on your phone, whilst out of the office or on the road
It has long been possible to access the BBC’s television on demand Iplayer application on a smartphone, but that has not stopped the broadcaster from releasing mobile versions, including those for the iPad and Android handsets. The latter of which we tested.
Of course the media streaming application is best enjoyed over a wireless connection as it might lead to some high data costs otherwise, and although there was some stuttering it was pretty smooth, most notably when listening to audio broadcasts. Where the picture did experience some delay it was frustrating.
The software is recommended for Android 2.1 and above and given our experience it might prove difficult to view content on any earlier releases.
