If you make your telephone calls from your PC there are a number of advantages, including free calls to some places.
Another advantage is that it becomes extremely easy to record every phone call you make, and Modem Spy is a program that does exactly that.
The program is small in size and easy to use, with adequate instructions available should you need them.
Recording of calls can be done manually or automatically, and the ID of each caller is automatically logged.
Modem Spy can also operate as an answer machine, should you be out. It will answer calls after a certain number of rings set by you. Calls can be recorded from both voice and data modems, with only a few changes required. It can record audio from a microphone too.
As it is a legal requirement in many countries (including the UK) the caller can be automatically informed that their call is being recorded. This is done by automatically playing a pre-recorded sound file.

Modem Spy
The only fault I found was timing the answer when the phone rang - apart from that I thought it was excellent.
