Many Linux distributions and bootable recovery CDs ship as an industry-standard ISO image. An ISO image is a complete copy of an original CD (or a collection of files as an ISO image, ready for burning to a CD) which can be distributed over the web and then burned ‘as is’ to a CD or DVD.

However, getting the ISO image on to a CD is a different matter. Many commercial burning applications enable you to import an ISO image, but many of these do not enable you to make too many changes before burning to CD/DVD. In addition, there are few free tools that enable you to manage your ISO distribution files.

ImgBurn is a tool that is designed to manage and create ISO distribution images. If you have an ISO you want to burn to CD/DVD, simply select the ISO image and burn.
