This is the software publisher's description.
Free PDF converter for both personal and commercial use. Using doPDF you can create searchable PDF files by selecting the "Print" command from virtually any application. With one click you can convert your Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint documents or your emails and favourite web sites to PDF files.
doPDF installs itself as a virtual printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. To create PDF files, you just have to print your documents to the doPDF pdf converter. Open a document (with Microsoft Word, WordPad, NotePad or any other software), choose Print and select doPDF. It will ask you where to save the PDF file and when finished, the PDF file will be automatically opened in your default PDF viewer.
Note that this free PDF tool does not use Ghostscript. The license will also enable you to produce PDFs for both personal and commercial use.
doPDF v7 is a major revision that now supports Type 1 fonts, Windows 7 support and many other minor fixes.

Great Free Alternative
A great free alternative to this which is already on the market is PDF24(http://en.pdf24.org/) - I use it for converting everything and the quality of conversion is good in all windows environments.

...asking a bit too much for nowt lad
Landscape to portrait in the same document. OK, I've seen power users pull hair out in Acrobat (Full) Word and Publisher trying to this. I think you are expecting a bit too much fro nowt lad.

Used for training manuals portability
I am writing a training manual on the cheap in Word 2003. Unfortunately Word files are not good for distributing to end customers; they mess with them and change the content. I need a reliable 'no fiddling' document that can be given to very basic mature PC users. Adobe Acrobat is far too much for the organisation to but (as I say, cheapo stingy organisation (public Health)) But with doPDF I ca easily make a quick document and mail it or carry via a USB memory stick to the learner and the finished file is perfectly readable on screen or if shared by many users, a single copy is printable. The document has many many graphics within and is contained in a hidden table format. It is transposed perfectly. It ain't perfect - but it works brilliantly and its for FREE !!!

Nearly good..
... but it can't handle 2 consecutive landscape pages in between portrait pages in Word docs. It also can't handle certain types of .emf diagrams
