Nvu is a new WYSIWYG HTML editor from the Linspire company, based on the old Mozilla Composer. It was developed primarily for Linux but is also available for Windows Mac and the Linspire platform.

It looks very similar to Macromedia Homesite but adds features from the likes of Dreamweaver, such as the ability to drag and drop images onto the page and the visual creation of tables.

Although best suited to individuals with little or no HTML skills, it is equally useful for more experienced coders as it allows full manipulation of the generated HTML code.

Some of its more interesting features include a 'tag preview' view, which provides a visual representation of all the table tags on a page, and auto-form creation.

It is missing some elements that can be found in web editors such as Dreamweaver, but this is understandable given it's early stages of development.
