StuffIt is a powerful compression tool wrapped up in an intuitive interface which allows users to compress files within the application itself, use the context-menu (right-click option) within Windows Explorer or simply drag-and-drop files onto the application.

Along with its proprietary StuffIt (.sit) format there is full support for the Zip format, enabling true cross-platform compatibility with Macintosh, Linux and Solaris.

A new 'express box' feature enables common compression and file transfer tasks to be carried out with a single click (i.e. zip a file, upload to FTP server, and send email notifying file has been updated).

Zip files can be encrypted and StuffIt files password-encrypted for added security. Also, self-extracting files can be created for easy distribution.

Also included in this download is the free StuffIt Expander, allowing easy expansion of all compression formats (across all platforms), which now includes support for Palm files: expanded files are automatically loaded into the Palm Install utility.

Version 2009 is a major upgrade and now enables you to work with the popular 7z archive format, schedule backups, integrate archive management in to your email client and much more.
