VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, and OGG, as well as for DVDs, VCDs and various streaming protocols.
It also can be used as a server for unicast or multicast streams in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.
VLC Media Player 2.0 is a major new upgrade and the first (major) upgrade since the original launch. New features include faster decoding, a new rendering pipepline and, for Mac users, a brand new user-interface.

VLC Media Player
Brilliant, no frills, bells and whistles-it just does the job. Handles everything I can throw at it. I thouroughly recommend it.

Win 7 Compatatible
YES I have run it on Win 7 and its very good, also from a pen drive on a laptop, very good too. There IS a free version and a portable (no install req'd version) which I used for both tasks.

Is this compatable with windows 7, it has been out for a long time now but Coputer Active does not say if it is.
