SharpReader

SharpReaderr is a Rich Site Summary (RSS) aggregator for Windows that takes news feeds from the internet and makes them more easily accessible.

It uses the Microsoft .Net framework so you will need to have this installed before running it. Installation is very easy as the files just need to be extracted to a folder on your computer.

SharpReader looks like an email client, with a list of subscribed feeds on the left-hand side. On the top right is a list of individual stories with the content underneath. Initially the content window displays just a summary of the piece; clicking on the title loads the full document.

There are five feeds already installed but you will need to know the full address of new feeds in order to load them.

Alerts to new messages pop up in the same way that Windows Messenger alerts you when contacts come online.
