Further development on Mozilla, the open source browser, results in this update.
It uses the same technology as Netscape 7, albeit a newer version, and as such is comparable to Netscape in terms of its speed.
But it is slightly more stable than Netscape and, with its tabbed windows, may well be a preferable option for many.
Tabbed windows have been around in Opera for ages, and by using them all web pages are contained within the main browser window. This saves space on the Windows taskbar and makes for easier browsing.
Like all browsers (bar Internet Explorer), Mozilla includes an integrated email client that supports multiple Pop3 and Imap accounts. An advanced search facility makes finding messages so much easier.
Mozilla comes complete with a chat client, but this is limited to the internet relay chat network only.
A basic download manager is also included, which lets you track and execute downloads. It does not support resuming downloads though.
Another useful feature is the built-in pop-up stopper. But be warned that it is also indiscriminate, simply blocking all pop-ups regardless of their use.
