VistaTweaker

When you receive your new PC with an installed version of Windows XP or Vista, that operating system hasn’t really been tweaked or configured for your PC. It’s generally a vanilla installation (meaning that the same operating system has been installed on your machine as well as any other machine, without changes) installed and left for you to configure.

What most people do not realise is that there are many hidden features in any Windows operating system, generally designed to stop people fiddling with their installation. In addition to these hidden features, there are a number of ways to speed up and enhance any Windows installation and improve it for your Internet connection. For instance, the MTU setting will be configured for the average net user, whereas it may not be appropriate to your connection.

VistaTweaker is a tool designed to get the most from your Vista installation. You can do the widely-available configuring of Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer and more. In all fairness, Vista Tweaker doesn’t really do much to enhance the performance of your computer or Internet connection. Take a look at TweakVI for another Vista-tweaking tool.
