Unlocker

When you work with a number of files, opening and closing applications, you’ll often find that some files become ‘locked’ and can’t be moved to another location or deleted from your drive. Often these files cannot be unlocked until you restart or shutdown your computer. Once you do this, the tool that was using the file will reset. However, this takes time and is a major inconvenience as you need to reset your machine simply to move files around your computer.

Unlocker is a simple tool that will free up the system resource(s) that are locking access to a particular file. It’s easy to use too. It simply resides in your right-mouse button system menu so, simply right-click on the file you want to unlock and select ‘unlocker’.
