Internet Explorer might come bundled with Windows but it lacks many features. A number of these can be found in Avant Browser.
Avant Browser is a quick download even for dial-up users. The interface is very similar to Internet Explorer, but open some of the menus and the differences are quickly obvious.
It is possible to deactivate different parts of a web page, such as pictures, sounds and flasgh animations. If you have a slow connection, this can make a huge difference.
Avant Browser can also block advertisements (including pop-ups), translate web pages, display web pages in full screen mode, and has full support for skins.
Any favourites or recently viewed pages from Internet Explorer can be easily imported, making migrating to this browser a doddle.
Avant Browser 2012 now includes the Firefox 8 rendering engine, in addition to the built-in Interet Explorer engine.

Don't confuse two browsers
Avant now comes in two flavors. The 3.57 meg download installs Avant Lite, which emulates only MSIE. If you want the Firefox engine, you need to get Avant Ultimate. It is available on the download page of the avantbrowser.com web site. (It incorporates the functionality of the now discontinued Orca Browser by the same author.) Avant Ultimate is Firefox without the memory leaks. It even runs some (but nowhere near all) Firefox extensions, including Ad Blocker Plus which does a much better job than Avant's internal ad block. Coming soon: A new Avant Ultimate that will add some features of Chrome to the mix. A beta build is currently available.

Fantastically quick!!!.
What a brilliantly quick browser, looks very good too.Was dubious at first after trying all the bigger named browsers, but am surprised, not used IE8 since downloading Avant 2010-101. Would highly reccomend anyone who finds IE8 too slow.

I have beeing using Avant browser for several years, like its fast speed ,functionality ,especially the online storage.frankly,I had lost my bookmarks before and the supporter restored them back for me. Now the 11.8 alpha add the backup/restore function, back up automatically ,it's great...and I notice there were several processes in task manager,no freezing and no out of memory any more....

A good browser
I would definitely rate this as the top browser available today! The download is relatively small, the interface is extremely stable, mouse gestures and dockable tabs. Pop-up and ad blocking are excellent. The ability to block ActiveX, images, Java, and more "on the fly" is superb. It is much more compatible than Firefox and the developer has advertised as "Fastest Browser on Earth". Over the last six months of extensive testing of alternatives to Internet Explorer, this one has got to be the "keeper" of the bunch!

An excellent IE browser to replace the ever so slow IE7
I have been using this browser for years & has been reiable & faster than any version of Microsofts Internet Browser. I even use the USB version where I go to avoid using Microsofts. A must for all who hate IE7 & its one I highly praise to all who know me!!

Superb browser...
Very very fast, clean, light, very intuitive, packed with features that are either only obtainable in Firefox with extensions, or not at all. Many security options make it a much safer browser than IE7, even with IE7 Pro. Lovely uncluttered interface. Stable, low memory footprint. Some of the best features (the floating toolbar that appears when text is selected, for instance) are very different fro most other browsers, and take time to appreciate. When you are used to them, you may wonder how you did without them... Most IE add-ons are compatible. IESpell, RoboForm and Free Download Manager all work seamlessly, though, and they are all you really need. Most of the other thngs are already covered by built-in features.
