Sonos Controller for PC
Use the Sonos system to distribute audio through your home

Streaming audio through our home is going to be the new way we’ll enjoy our music. As more of us move our audio from the traditional storage methods such as CD to storing our tracks on our computer, we’ll want to play those tracks through our Hi-Fi. There’s little point spending hundreds of pounds on good speakers if you can’t listen to your favourite tracks.

There are various ways you can stream audio to your speakers. One is the Airport Express system. This enables you to store your tracks through iTunes, connect an Airport Express device to each audio device where you want to hear your music and then use your regular remote control to control volume. Only problem with this method is that to move to a new album, you either need to control via your computer, setup a playlist or use something like an iPhone, with Remote app, to control iTunes.

The other option is Sonos. This wireless audio distribution system has been around for ages and has matured over the years. You connect a wireless distribution device to your network router and then another, smaller, device with each audio unit where you want to hear your audio. Difference between Sonos and the Airport Express system is that you can buy and use a dedicated controller that enables you to control the track your listening to, the rooms where you can hear your wirelessly-streamed audio and much more.

The download here is for the Windows version of the software controller for your computer.
