Now here's a thought. Are you about to purchase a printer, but can't decide between an inkjet and a cheap colour laser?
How about if you were able to use that printer for commercial gain, so your new colour laser could be used to bring in some additional income?
PaperCut Quota is a tool that will enable to you set up your own print shop, where you can monitor and supply a print quota for your organisation.
Indeed, you might be living in a shared student house, where you have a wireless network and you have one key printer.
You can set up PaperCut Quota to either monitor the use of your printer (so you can determine who is making the most out of your generosity) or to charge them a fee for each printout.
Your users can purchase credit and then use your printer until their credit has run dry. You can set a value for the page cost of printing through your quota system.
Note that this version is free for up to five users. From the sixth user onwards, you'll need to pay a licence fee for PaperCut Quota.
