Windows Explorer is lacking in many areas, most annoying of which is its single-pane interface. Install this free software and an extra pane is added at the bottom of the Explorer window.

This enables you to view the contents of two separate folders simultaneously, an essential feature for many.

A tab bar allows you to create up to five different FolderBoxes, which can each be set to open at a different folder. This gives you instant access to your most used files.

It can be turned on and off easily via the View menu in Windows Explorer, although once open you'll probably never close it.

Upgrade to the Pro version and you can create up to 10 FolderBoxes.
