TuneUp Utilities is an all-around complete toolbox for optimising Windows. Clearly structured tools in six categories get the best out of your PC. The tools are easy to use and intuitive.
Eliminate the speed brakes in your system and avoid time-consuming new installations. TuneUp Utilities helps you to optimally accelerate Windows, programs, and games and to bring your system back up to speed.
Countless giant files as well as a plethora of temporary and seldom-used data hide in storage and needlessly use up valuable disk space. Bring that to an end and free up space for important things. TuneUp Utilities 2provides you with a constant overview and systematically cleans up hard drives. Simple, fast and precise.
You can easily and reliably examine and maintain your system with minimal effort. TuneUp Utilities offers you all essential maintenance functions for your PC in one interface. Defragment, clean-up, free up space - fully automatically, if you want
Keep the core of your PC in top condition so you can ensure optimum performance. Prevent data loss and recover accidentally deleted files. TuneUp Utilities helps you to solve these and other PC problems with only a few clicks.
TuneUp 2012 is the latest version, with a Program Deactivator, which will stop/start applications rather than uninstalling. The new Economy Mode will enable you to eek more power from your fading laptop battery.

Stay With 2009
TuneUp Utilities 2009 was brillient but unfortunatly I upgraded to 2010 about 3 weeks ago, now I do not have the weekly scann anymore, I have an iritating systen tray icon showing false notifactions, and to top it all my first encounter with their technical support was very disappointing as they obviously do not read your reported problems. 2010 is just to invasive, the main programme window is far to complicated compared to 2009 (which was very simple and straight forward). The 2010 version does no more than 2009 in my opinion, so I have uninstalled 2010 and reinstalled 2009 and will never upgrade again.

I think it's brilliant
I got it for free from Computeractive's "Exclusive Download" a few months ago. I think it's brilliant. It clears up the registry a treat. It also lets you alter startup programs without that annoying system utility message from Windows, as well as being able to alter the startup programs on my work PC whereas otherwise the admin blocks me from trying to alter these via the normal route of going through the msconfig in the run command. Have never had any probs with it and is the 2nd best program I've downloaded for free from Computeractive. I'd definitely recommend it.

tuneup utilities 2009
I have had tuneuputilities 2007/2008 then decided as i was offered a huge discount for the update to purchase 2009,however before installing 2009 i ran the 2008 version which showed no problems, downloaded 2009 version, paid my money, ran the programme which showed i had 309 problems with the first scan,so either the 2008 version never worked or the 2009 was rubbish, however run scans to correct problems,"problem corrected" it said, run scans again same amount of problems, again and again the same result,i got a refund as i would not reccomend this,

The Best Yet!
I have used every optimiser there is and all are lacking. This one is the business...easy to use and does a thorough job of optimising and cleaning the whole system. Only used the trial so far but intend to buy the full version 'cause I'm so impressed. Highly recommended!

TuneUp Utilities 2008
I have TuneUp Utilities 2008 and until recently, I've never experienced any problems with it. I read and heard some good things about "System Mechanic" so I purchased a copy a couple of weeks ago and installed it without uninstalling "TuneUp Utilities" ... This where I could have made my mistake. In any case, I experienced countless Win32 system error messages and finally lost the ability to run Windows Automatic Update. I began to receive virus problems I've "NEVER" experienced and finally had to completely reformat my hard drive and start over. There was a Forbes review on "System Mechanic" that convinced me not to reinstall it. I'm probably going to reinstall "TuneUp Utilities 2008" again. vnunet.com comment: you're right, do not install both System Mechanic and Tune-Up as both are deep system cleansing and optimisation tools. It's like installing two AV apps. Not required. Stick with the one you prefer.
