Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 Advanced is a compact, lightweight program that delivers all the core disc burning functionality you need in one straightforward, easy-to-use interface.
The program isn't weighed down with unnecessary extras. There's no media organiser here, no audio or photo editor, no lengthy list of options that you'll never use, which gobble up hard drive space and make it harder to find everything else.
Instead Burning Studio 2010 Advanced concentrates on the essentials: creating data discs, burning or ripping music, and creating video DVDs (from a prepared folder). You're able to create or burn disc images (ISO, CUE/BIN and ASHDISC formats are supported). A design tool helps you quickly create attractive covers, labels and booklets for your discs. And a handy backup utility can back up your choice of files and folders across multiple CDs, DVDs or Blu-ray discs, with optional compression and encryption to ensure your data stays safe.
Every Burning Studio 2010 Advanced function is accessible from one central menu, so you're never left hunting around for the option you need. And once you've chosen a particular burning project then the program is very simple to use. For the most part you'll just drag and drop the files you need, and a couple of clicks later you'll be burning your disc.
And yet, there's still plenty of advanced functionality here - it just doesn't get in your way. Choose the Burn Files and Folders with Expert Settings, for instance, and you're able to configure your disc's ISO and UDF version, enable Joliet, even add a boot image to make a bootable CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc, and all in just a few clicks.

Authoring DVDs
Authoring and Burning DVD is not the same thing. I understand that ABS 2009 only burns, and that ABS 8 is an authoring tool. I have only .dvr-ms registrations from Microsoft Media Center. Is ABS 8 capable of loading .dvr-ms files, editing out commercials and save them into .vob files with a convenient menu (also a .vob file), generating the file structure ready to be burned to DVD? Can I calibrate the compression rate to fille exactly the 4.3 Gb DVD and not leaving it half full? For simply burn the DVD I can use Nero.exe which can burn a full DVD in 4 minutes. Can I see some screenshots of your menus?

Chapter markers
Does ABS 8 have the ability to put chapter marks into .vob files and in the menu file? Can also generate second or third level menus? Are the menus only text (like Nero 8) or can have animated thumbnails as well? Is the menu background only an image or can be a short movie?
