MemInfo

The more software you install and uninstall from your computer, the slower your system appears, over time. This is due to fragmentation of your hard drive and the amount of information that is added to your Registry (and isn’t removed even when you uninstall the software). After a year you’ll find your system is much slower than when you first bought your computer.

However, the same theory can apply to your system memory. If you’re constantly opening and closing applications, iconifying them to your system tray and running tasks in the background, you’ll find that you lose system memory from fragmented files that haven’t freed your memory, when they close.

MemInfo is a tiny tool that will reside in your system tray and will keep you informed of the current memory usage. However, the latest version also includes an automated memory defragmentation tool, that will free up memory use whilst you are using your computer.
