RealPlayer is a media player that is at home with online video and social media as it is with media on your computer.

It can play a wide variety of file types including Flash videos such as those found on Youtube, MPEG-4 and Windows Media videos and MP3, WMA, AAC audio files among others.

There are also some Real Player formats including a lossless format for audio that only takes up half the space of the original files.

Online video is where Real Player is most useful. Add-ons are installed for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome that display a small button whenever a compatible video is played. Click on this button to download the video to your computer.

This version also includes a new option to tell friends about the video using Twitter or Facebook, and to convert the video to watch on portable devices.

There is a long list of presets from the iPhone and iPod and Blackberry phones to Sony PSPs and Playstation 3.
