Virus protection couldn't get much easier than this; and it's powerful software too.

Manufacturer: Panda Software

Price: £26.99

Another quality product from Panda Software, this time aimed squarely at the home user.

Titanium 2.04 is an antivirus program that can be installed and forgotten about, and it certainly delivers. It can't be used on networked computers, but it's ideal for standalone PCs.

Once installed it will prompt that a complete scan should be done, and rescue disks made (if not already done).

Scanning is extremely thorough and only takes minutes. Any infected files are dealt with instantly.

From then on Titanium 2.04 constantly checks all files you use for viruses, including anything received via the internet.

At the time of writing over 64,500 virus signatures were present in its virus library, which is pretty large.

New viruses spring up daily, though, which is why the library can be updated at will, simply by clicking on 'update' (full version only).
