Verdict

A fun program for the kids that can also be hard enough to challenge some adults.

Animated Puzzles 1 is the first in a series from Flix Productions, and combines traditional puzzle elements with modern computer effects.

This download includes 30 puzzles, many of which are animated, with another 25 puzzles in the registered version. Like a jigsaw, the idea is to arrange pieces in the right order to display a picture. Pictures are colourful and cover a wide range of subjects: insects, landscapes, everyday objects etc.

Select between 12, 24, 48 and 96 pieces for each puzzle, depending on how difficult you want it to be. The picture is divided up into equal sized squares and scrambled, so you have to swap them around until they are in their correct places.

Solve a puzzle and you are congratulated with a short 3D animation of the picture and some cheerful sound effects.
