Pegasus Mail

Pegasus Mail has been on the scene for ages, and has gathered quite a big following over the years.

The program can be run on a single machine or across a network. It can deal with multiple users on a single machine, and can handle numerous email protocols: SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, LDAP and PH.

It does have a rather cluttered interface that requires some getting used to, but it uses little in the way of resources (despite its functionality), and can happily run in the background.

It is secure, protecting you from email-borne viruses/Trojan horses, and will automatically filter out junk mail. Other security is provided by support for encryption and SSL email.

A selective download feature lets you preview the contents of a Pop3 account before downloading any messages - a handy timesaver.

Its Noticeboard feature offers a means of sharing notes between users across a network.

Latest edition contains a number of fixes and enhancements, such as an improved Mail Merge function, spam filtering tools, HTML rendering improvements and much more.
