Only a few years ago, if you used a Mac, you tended to keep away from the Windows operating system, and vice versa. File management differed, networking was awkward, archives were stored differently and insert a Mac-formatted drive on your Windows system and it was unreadable without third-party software. With the rise in popularity of the Mac, more people are using a Mac as their home computer or even a laptop for the road.
This has had developers work to use the Internet to transfer, synchronise and move files between computers, whether this is between Windows PCs or from a PC to a Mac and vice versa.
SugarSync is a tool that you can use to automatically backup and synchronise your files between computers. You can edit a document at work on your Windows PC, then find that the document appears on your Mac at home, using automatic synchronisation across the Internet. If you’re on the road and shut down your work machine, you can log in to your SugarSync account, access the files and documents you’ve synchronised with your account and download to your laptop.
If you don’t want to synchronise your files, you could use SugarSync to backup and store your most important documents. If you lose them in the future, simply restore them back to your computer. If you run out of space, you can upgrade and pay for additional storage.
Note that SugarSync is a subscription service. You get 10GB free for the first 45 days.

Best cloud based sync/backup app
I have been using SugarSync for over a year now and have had a very good user experience - in the one time I experienced an issue I found the forum community to be very helpful and I was able to solve my problem very quickly indeed. I would recommend anyone to try this for themselves and find how easy and intuitive it is to navigate and use. Great for just backing up as well as the whole sync thing! Use the below link and you get some extra free space when you create your account, just as I did when I first joined. https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=byowz8gkqiyv Hope that helps someone out :)

Problems with accessing data
The problem that SugarSync has been unable to resolve is retrieveing files remotely. There is a browser interface you should be able to use to access files backed up from the main CPU. Unfortunatly if you have more files than can be displayed on one page you cannot access the second page of files. When you click on the "page 2" button it only takes you back to the homepage. No one has been able to explain why everything after the first page is not available, and their tech support staff seems pretty unsophisticated and not too competent

Sugar Sync Problems
I cancelled my Sugar Sync contract because it would not sync to the drive of origin. My files are on the D: Drive and Program Files are on the C: Drive. Sugar Sync would sync back to my C: Drive and fill it until my computer found to a halt. There is some sort of default in Sugar Sync that assumes you want to sync to the C: Drive.
