Google Pack

Google Pack, provided by Google, is actually just a number of good quality and, in the majority of cases, free software that Google has decided to promote via its website.

All the software is available separately, and many of the included programs are Google's own (so the cynic may suggest that this is purely a piece of Google self-promotion).

The programs included in the Pack are Google Earth, Picasa, Google Desktop, Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox (with Google Toolbar), Adobe Reader 8, Norton Security Scan and a starter edition version of PC Tools Spyware Doctor.

The Google Pack Screensaver lets you display photos from your hard drive as a slideshow or collage.

Note that the file that you download from here is merely a small stub. The Google Pack install tool will examine your system, check to see if you already have the individual applications installed, then will either update or download and install the new updates.
