It's fair to say that the average computer user doesn't take adequate steps to secure their email. Indeed, the plethora of email encryption applications can often confuse and their implementation can be less than straightforward.

Secured eMail attempts to address these problems by offering simple and secure email encryption software with the simplicity of sending unencrypted mail.

Designed to work with Outlook, Secured eMail works by setting up a shared secret when corresponding with contacts. You will be asked to communicate a question only your recipient can answer prior to sending your mail.

Once the first secured email is sent, the channel is secured so every email after that will not require the shared secret.

The recipient will have to install the free Secured eMail reader to read the encrypted message but this will work with any email client.

The process of sending email is much the same, the only noticeable difference being the 'send secure' button incorporated with your usual Outlook toolbar.

The integration of Secured eMail is unobtrusive and straightforward. It is unclear exactly what kind of encryption is used but, as a Microsoft certified partner, it's reasonable to assume that it ensures safe and secure.

You'll need to complete a small form in order to qualify for the free download and receive your software license.
