Opera is a very mature browser with lots of useful tools. Highly recommended

Opera is a very powerful browser that gives the likes of Internet Explorer and Firefox a run for their money.
It is fast when displaying web pages and comes with lots of extra tools that improve web browsing.
Opera supports tabbed browsing, in fact it was one of the first browsers to do so, and has a Speed Dial view when a new tab is opened.
Up to nine bookmarks can be saved on the page, making it very quick to open your favourite sites.
The choice of Speed Dial sites can be the same on all of the computers you use with a My Opera Account. This account also comes with a blog and photo-sharing space. The Speed Dial settings can also be shared with mobile phones running Opera Mini.
An improved content blocker allows individual elements of a web page to be blocked to avoid adverts. The pop-up blocker has also been improved.
Opera has long had a good email client that uses tags rather than folders to organise emails, just like Google Mail. This means that several tags can be attached to the same email if it straddles several categories. Opera has a 'low-bandwidth' mode to increase the speed of email downloads.
Opera 11.50 ships with a new UI, Speed Dial extensions, password synchronisation and much more.

SImply the best
I use Opera 8 hours per day on average and have used all the other well known browsers for years, and have to congratulate Opera on creating my #1 choice of browser. The functionality is huge and user-friendlyness totally natural and instinctive. I admit, it took me quite a while to discover all the (for me) important little tricks that Opera offers, but now I simply refure to use anything else ! Well done !

I may give it a go
I tried Opera seriously some months back. It had some nice features & was quick, but I found (running XP w/ 3 GB memory) that it repeatedly froze up when stressed. Someone who only keeps a couple windows open when surfing may love it; I ken not. But I am using Firefox RC2 now, & it is GREAT. I will likely download the new Opera version for a try-out, however.

Another review that is way out of date about Opera
This is another review that is just not up to speed with what Opera does. vnunet.com comment: I think you misunderstand. We don't re-write every review with every single update. It's impossible. The review generally applies to an older version and is updated (at the end of the review) with details of some features in the new edition.

Opera is the A!!
I'm now trying this latest ver., 9681. let's hope that most of the bugs of previous builds have been addressed and fixed. When is Firefox going to make a feature like 'fit-to-width' a standard feature?

Syncronise
A new feature which isn't mentioned in the review is the ability to syncronise Opera with other versions of the browser, so you can have the same bookmarks etc. when running opera in windows, OSX or your mobile.
