Brutus

Brutus is a very small application that aims to take the strain out of shutting down, re-starting and logging off.

The program will create the shutdown, restart and log-off icons on your desktop or in the quick-launch menu, and they will activate with a single click.

There are a number of options to choose from, ranging from a 'classic' exit (Windows will close normally) to forcing hung applications to terminate when shutting down.

Shutting down in Windows can certainly be a chore and this program undoubtedly saves time. But having a one-click solution may be a little dangerous if done unintentionally; unsaved work could be lost and the precious time you originally saved could be wasted.
