MozBackup is a simple tool to use which safely backs up your profile in any Mozilla application – Firefox, Thunderbird, Mozilla Suite and Netscape.
Once installed, simply run the application and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll be given the opportunity to select the individual elements of a profile that you want to save.
These elements include bookmarks, history, extensions, passwords, cookies, form details, downloaded file lists, certificates, cache, emails, address books and sidebars.
Backups are saved in ".pcv" format which is basically the same as the Zip format, and the backups can be password-protected for added security.
Restoring of saved profiles is just as easy, and in the same way as when backing up, you can select the individual elements to restore.
The latest v1.4.9 now supports Songbird.

This is great
It has really solved a problem for me. I keep my home desktop as the "always updated" PC for Firefox and Thunderbird, but use a laptop when I travel away on business. Mozbackup makes it easy to load my latest Firefox and Thunderbird profiles onto the travel laptop. Great! Can we have a version which will work with Linux please?

Hooray. a great tool
Yes, one needs to backup their data to prepare for the worse. But, does one think of backing up their mail and web browser, probably not. Surely, when one looses all his/her mail and addresses, they would be or with no doubt be quite frustrated. All one needs to do is use this tool "MozBackup". I have been using it for many years with some it being unsupported. Now it is even better, supported and in fact great. Deserving "5 Bright and Shiny Stars" PS: Is a Linux version going to be available? Be nice for passing stuff back and forth.
