Pocket PC devices come with Windows Media Player pre-installed but if you don't like it there are plenty of alternatives, of which Pocket Player is one.

Looking pretty good with its light blue interface, it is easy to use and full of neat features. It also supports skins if you are into that sort of thing.

13 different file formats are supported, including MP3, WAV, OGG, WMA, MPI, M3U and ASX.

Along with playlists it is possible to create Favourites, offering quick access to your favourite tracks.

A graphic equaliser lets you play audio the way you like it, and full details of the quality of each track are displayed during playback (i.e. 192Kbps, Stereo).

Annoyingly however, there appears to be no way of locking the interface so that buttons aren't accidentally pressed when in your bag.
