If you’re away from your computer for any length of time (holiday, illness, computer gone for repair), it’s rather exiting to see that we have a massive amount of email to download on return. We all think we’re rather popular, only to find that 90% of our email is made up of unwanted spam. If you have more than one mail account, you might find that the same spam is sent to multiple email accounts.
Outlook Express has very limited support for filtering your email as spam. SpamBrave is a system that enables you to install as a plugin within Outlook Express so that it will automatically learn what you describe as spam or legitimate email. You can ‘train’ the filter engine over a period of time and it should automatically move the most obvious spam email in to your Spam folder. If you find legitimate email has filtered in to your Spam folder, you can mark this ‘Not Spam’ and move it back to your Inbox. In future, email from this sender will be automatically referred to as safe and authorised email.
SpamBrave ships with a fantastic statistics tool that enables you to see how much spam you’ve received compared to legitimate email.
