BugBand is a great little application for learning music in a fun way.

Choose between a guitar and piano interface and get ready, because bugs have invaded. As they crawl across the displayed musical stave you have to emulate the note on the selected instrument below.

Hit the correct note and you are rewarded with five points; get it wrong and you lose five points.

Ten difficulty levels are available - two in this demo - along with a practice level for real novices. In practice level all the keys/strings are labelled, along with the lines and spaces of the stave. The full version adds sharps and flats to the note range.

Plug your Palm directly into a MIDI device, such as a synthesizer or keyboard, and you will hear each note exactly as the instrument would sound. Otherwise, you get a close approximation to the intended note.

Great help files should aid those new to music to get to grips with things, while other users will have no trouble.
