Star Downloader is a download manager with the added bonus of features to speed up your downloads.
Transfer speeds are improved by splitting a file into separate parts and downloading them simultaneously.
It also searches for faster mirror sites and downloads the file from there, if available.
The resuming of downloads is supported, and it can be integrated with all common browsers (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera and Mozilla).
Downloads can be viewed in categories - including active, paused, scheduled and queued - and the download history can be viewed for the past 24 hours, seven days and 30 days.
A built-in zip utility can unpack compressed downloads, and files can be installed from within Star Downloader.
Multiple downloads are supported (simply specify a maximum number), and you can perform scheduled downloads, and connect/disconnect automatically.
It has an extremely easy to use interface, with colourful buttons and a logical layout. It also looks good and performs extremely well.
Version 1.45 has Firefox 1.5 support and Internet Explorer Toolbar for fast searching.
