Apple provides a built-in software update tool that will keep your installed Apple applications, such as iTunes or iWork, up-to-date. The problem is that most of us have many non-Apple applications installed and it's not always easy to remember to check to see if these have been updated. Some include an auto-check system to see if a new update is available, but most do not.
AppFresh is a well-designed, useful application that helps you keep all installed applications, preference panes and plug-ins that are on your machine, up-to-date. It’s fully integrated into Mac OS X and uses osx.iusethis.com to ensure your computer is equipped with the latest software. You can choose to ignore or not bother updating apps if you believe the new version is less stable or you're happy with certain applications.
AppFresh provides a central control panel to manage available software updates. It integrates popular update technologies including Sparkle, Apple Software update, Microsoft AutoUpdate and more.
