Design professionals often work with more than one monitor, which enables them to open their DTP tool on one screen, with their image editor on another. They can then quickly move across from one screen to another, without having to iconify their apps or wait for them to open, when an image needs some editing.
Problem is that not everyone can justify the cost or the desktop space required for two large monitors, so it’s easier to buy a 30” screen and then use a desktop switching tool to open multiple desktop workspaces on one monitor.
By using more than one workspace, you could open your web browser within one, email client in another and so on. When you want to check your email, you simply switch to the workspace where you email client is open full-screen.
WindowsPager is another free desktop workspace manager that will place mini-desktop windows within your System Tray. You can swap the priority of your desktop spaces and assign a keyboard shortcut so you can quickly move between open spaces.
Note that this application is still classed as ‘experimental’ and is in beta.
