When you’re in business, it’s all too easy to stick with traditional methods of taking stock, accepting orders and taking payment. Shop owners are scared of change, so insist on doing everything via paper. Fine, but how do you track your sales, print reports, track repeat sales from customers, market to your existing userbase and more? For instance, if you’ve not seen a particular customer for a fair few months and have just received new stock that suits their requirements, how do you send a message to this particular customer?
Automating your sales process has huge benefits to the ongoing success of your retail business. For instance, you can keep in regular contact with existing customers, turn enquiries in to sales and understand which stock is in the warehouse, stock that’s on-sale and is on order?
LightSpeed is a point-of-sale system for the Mac that will take your retail business to the next level. You can use it to manage your retail stock, accept and record customer orders, keep in contact with existing (and new) customers and even manage your e-store.
LightSpeed ships with an iTunes style of interface and is very well designed. It’s not cheap, but then it does just about everything you need to run, manage and maintain your business. If you have or plan an e-store, you can add the module at a later date.
