Just as regular exercise is good for your health, a regular workout for your hard disk is recommended. Windows has its own tools for doing this, but CCleaner makes a slightly better job of it.
The application is free to use and shows the door to all kinds of temporary files, from temporary internet files to old automatic back-ups from application such as Office XP and file sharing software. It also shakes out old entries from your computer's registry, such as unistallers and invalid shortcuts. The makers guarantee that it contains no apyware or adware.
CCleaner is one of the more popular system cleansing and optimisation tools available. This is the major v3.x release incorporating a number of new enhancements. It ships with a brand new user-interface and is available in a compact version. Of course, there are also a number of other tweaks and improvements as well as added support for applications such as IE9 and AVG AntiVirus.

One of the most useful Windows utilities available
Have been using CCleaner (originally 'CrapCleaner') daily since 2002; hands-down, it is one of the most useful Windows utilities available - and it is free! (Also recommended is a free add-on called "CCleaner Enhancer" which extends CCleaner's coverage by more than 270 additional programs, as well as offering automation of CCleaner to run when Windows starts.) A word of caution on the 'dreaded' Registry. The Registry Cleaner is the one component of CCleaner that I do not use (and recommend the same to others). Since XP, the Windows Registry has become far less needful of 'cleaning' (especially true for Win Vista & 7); indeed, the potential for great harm far outweighs the good that cleaning might offer - even the mild cleaning of CCleaner. If one loses sleep over their Registry not having been cleaned, BACK-UP the Registry beforehand so that it can be restored to its previous state if need be (at the very least, set a Restore Point).

Yes, It's "The Tin Syndrome" again, but without "worms" !
JUST THE JOB! FAST, PLAIN, SIMPLE TO USE - GREAT STUFF. run on Three machines vista/XP ...Not one problem. Having been "duped" into purchasing "recommended" cleaners (particularly advertised as -DOWNLOAD NOW in headers! ) I run CCleaner, Windows Washer, Tune up utilities and ALL without error messages and I've had refunds from the "big guys" after "testing" their products!

CCleaner Problem
Generally a good cleaner, but I have now lost System Restore....any advice as to how I can get S.R. back please.....? Also, After using the cleaner, I now get the dreaded 'Blue Screen' showing techinical fault 0x000000D1 (0xe24BA000,0x0000002,0x00000000,0xBA1DCCF6) then I have to wait until the Physical Dumping to Disk completes at 60 Dumps. Really CC.....you ought to warn of these potential problems when clearing the registery.

Fixed a STOP 0x0000007E Driver Problem
Whilst installing a TV dongle and software from my older XP PC onto my new Vista laptop, a driver caused a 0x0000007E STOP error and the horrible blue screen to appear on startup. It seemed to be a registry problem. Rather than get caught up on the phone to the laptop support guys, I read some reviews on registry cleanup packages and chose to download CCleaner via this site. After running the analyse and cleanup functions to remove a lot of unnecessary files etc., the laptop was shut down, restarted and behold ... No Blue Screen! My verdict therefore has to be that this software works and even better, it's Free!

Its a Brilliant Cleaner
Its a very good cleaner but a little too good at times as it would leave you with-out system restore points plus other parts of the system. Its very fast and also has a Registry Cleaner included. I would prefer Advanced Window Care Personal. Just my opinion.

Excellent Software
I've used this lots in earlier versions and the latest version is excellent. I recommend it to all friends and colleagues, not one has had a problem. I have NEVER had to restore any backups from changes made by CCleaner.

I have used this for a month now, it's very good. It also makes you aware of any "issues", just click on the sidebar and run for any issues. Good Free program!
