Ebooks are a good way of passing the time or a long journey on a PDA. Calibre can manage ebook libraries and download news feeds, and convert them into ebooks.

There are plenty of different formats supported: EPUB, IRF, HTML, LIT, MOBI, PRC, TXT, RTF, PDF, CBZ and CBR. Sadly it doesn't support the Palm PDB format, but at least the Palm reader can read some of the Calibre supported files.

It can download news from online sources and make them into an ebook for keeping up with the news. The quality of the ebook depends on the source but it's a great idea and a good alternative to downloading when on the move.

Calibre can search ebooks that have been downloaded and these searches can now be saved to save time.

The ebooks can be read on the computer using Calibre. The process can be automated to download from the websites daily and then delete the ebooks after 60 days to save hard disk space.

The reader is very good. It can change the size and kind of font used. You can even add your own stylesheet. Bookmarks can also be added to documents.

There are also preliminary drivers for The Entourage Edge and Samsung Edge ebook readers

A manual can be found online.
