The PC world is full of Registry cleaners, aiming to free your system of the junk left over by long-removed applications. And so you might not think you could possibly benefit from installing another, yet PC Tools Desktop Maestro could well be worth the effort.
Click "Scan Your Computer" and there's none of the usual waiting around, for instance. Some Registry scanners take so long we'd only run them overnight, but this one zipped through our test PC in a speedy 58 seconds.
The scan results aren't displayed in the usual incomprehensible list, either. They're split into categories, then sorted by priority, so it's easy to find what you need. And individual keys can be kept or deleted, whatever you like.
If you're concerned about Registry keys being removed in error, then you'll appreciate the Restore option that lets you undo any change the program makes. And it can be configured to create a System Restore Point before deleting a single Registry key, for an extra layer of protection.
The attention to detail continues, even after your redundant Registry keys have been deleted. This doesn't in itself change the physical size of the Registry, so PC Tools Desktop Maestro includes a "compacting" option that does exactly that, consolidating keys to ensure your Registry takes the minimum of drive space and RAM.
Just in case that's not enough, the program also comes with a Registry Monitor that will keep an eye on key system Registry locations for activity, and issue regular reports. There's also a handy set of PC performance tweaks. And there's a huge bonus with the built-in Privacy Guardian (see walkthrough). It'll clear your tracks in Windows, browsers, common applications and more, and justifies installing PC Tools Desktop Maestro all by itself.

invalid code
Hi, I have been using the pc tools desktop maestro without any problems, the last time I started the program it asked me to 'register' although I had already registered the program, but it would not work unless I registered it. So imagine my surprise when I used the registration code supplied by VNUNET only to be told that the code was an invalid cose. Whats going on????? can someone please advise me of the valid code I need to enter,I have tried to send an email to pc tools but it keeps being returned as a 'dead email address'. Hopefully someone knows what the problem is and can provide me with a 'new' code. Is it a VNUNET problem???? many thanks Paul

Free Full Serial now shows Invalid, Program unregistered itself
I have the exact issue as Anthony Donald posted below under "Not valued key" It asks to be registered again (after already doing it the first time) and now the info in the email from PC Tools registration letter say "Invalid License Code". I've never heard of a time limit on a full registration key.

Not valued key
I've used this software for several months and found it great but, now all of a sudden it's asking me to register again because some of the features have stopped working. When I enter the key it tells me it's invaled even though I copy and pasted it from the email they sent me. Does it have a time limit on this registration key???

No e-mail here, either
I had mine sent to me at NetZero, where I have spam filtering turned off. No sign of it after about 24 hours. What gives?

No email here either
No email here either for Desktop Maestro and my SPAM goes into a separate folder at the ISP and in Outlook which I must check. No re-transmit of email available either. Message is: "License already issued." It would also be helpful to know the email address origin to enter into SPAM filters. vnunet.com comment: why not use an alternative email address such as a Google Mail address? The incoming email will be from pctools.com. If you can't get a serial code, why don't you just email us at the usual 'download problems' address and we'll see what we can do? Note that we can't policy how a software supplier sends serial codes. They are doing nothing different than if you'd bought the software!

Not getting license by email
Ok, you got me to download a proprietary utility, and to give up info about myself, but the registration number did not arrive via email! Is this a scam or simple incompetence in the vendor's process? vnunet.com comment: clearly it is not a 'scam'. A scam is when someone does something devious and malicious, normally for money. I'd simply suggest you check your spam mail, junk folder or even check whether your ISP has server-side anti-spam filters. Many do.
