The best thing about any major computer show is that developers use it as a showcase for new or forthcoming major updates to their software. With iWork 09 released this January, Mac users have a number of options when looking for a word processor. The recently released OpenOffice 3 is now Mac native and Lotus Symphony is another Mac office suite. However, what happens if you simply want a basic word processor? Most of us do not need fancy tables, to drop in a spreadsheet or need to create a graph within our document.

Bean 2 Preview is the latest version of the Mac-only word processor. It's a basic tool designed to enable you to write basic documents. The latest version now enables you to create a multi-column document as well as other enhancements.
