Again, this is another application that we're not going to put online for public download until it receives a public preview, but it's still worth a mention for serious users. People ask us why we do not put every beta on v3.co.uk/downloads, unlike other downloads sites. The reason is that the software developer isn't promoting it publicly on the frontpage of their site, so why would we want to promote it on the front of our site? Respect the developer's wishes.

VirtualBox 3.0 has been released as an early first beta for testing, mainly aimed at advanced VirtualBox users who want to help test some of the new features for the forthcoming new version. It supports up to 32 virtual CPUs which is useful if you want to share your multi-core CPU across your virtually hosted computers. You can also use DirectX 9 applications on hosted Windows virtual machines and more.
