When you bought your fast broadband connection, we bet you were really impressed that your ISP could offer you a 24MB (or higher!) service? The problem is that most people do not realise that the bottleneck isn't your connection to your ISP, it's often the ability of a remote server to deliver content fast enough to your computer. The connection from server to your ISP is often slower than your ISP to your computer. Download a large file and it can take a frustrating amount of time. It may even stop before the download is complete.
Acquisition 2 is a commercial peer-to-peer download manager for the Mac that enables you to source downloads from multiple people, which means that you may find your downloads complete more quickly. You can also pause a download, put your computer to sleep, then come back to the machine and your download will start again from the previous point, automatically.
