It's been a turbulent time for networking vendor Novell. In an attempt to claw back lost ground the firm has outlined the roadmap for NetWare 6, revealing a point release due to ship in the middle of next year as well as another launch for 2003 with 32- and 64-bit support.
Other recent highlights include the launch of the ZENworks Synergy package, designed to give administrators the facilities to deliver applications for client-servers, thin clients and the web from a single point.
In an interview with vnunet.com, senior vice president Chris Stone revealed that Novell's strategy may see as much as 15 per cent of its product base dropped in the near future.
But a majority of the company's 163 products will be consolidated into new packages focusing on services rather than technologies.
